Matthew, better known as the “mini” Bad Apple began his life on 2 wheels when he was 2 on a PW50 dirt bike. His interest in drag racing grew as he came to events and watched his Uncle Tracy (Tracy Kile) race his Top Fuel Harley.
Matthew began his drag racing career riding his SSR70 at his first National event in Rising Sun, Maryland with AHDRA at the Cecil County Dragway in 2022. After that event the hook was set.
Matthew continued into the 2023 season riding his SSR70 at RMC Raceway in Oley, Pa. and has come a long way in less than 2 years. In August he graduated from his SSR70 to a mini custom built drag bike. Matthew did some testing on the new bike with his dad Anthony Pier and his Uncle Tracy before taking it to the track at RMC Raceway and select AHDRA events. In 2023 Matthew ended his first full season at RMC Raceway fourth (4th) in points in the Junior Youth class and seventh (7th) in points in the Junior ET class. In 2024 Matthew was able to compete in the Junior Youth and the Junior ET classes at RMC Raceway continuing his drag racing training.
Matthew’s fire for going fast has been ignited and will push him through the 2025 racing season. He is Bad Apple Racing’s up-and-coming seed for Top Fuel Harley and has the desire to follow in his Uncle Tracy’s footsteps.
